Join us for an evening of unity, community, and cultural exchange as we break bread together during this holy month of Ramadan.

About the Event:

We invite The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Dallas Stake members and interfaith friends to join us for our annual Ramadan Dinner. This event celebrates the traditions of Ramadan and promotes understanding and friendship among different communities.

Program:

  • 6:15 PM: Check-in
  • 6:30 PM: Cultural Presentation (Folk Dance)
  • 6:45 PM: Ramadan Presentation & Q&A
  • 7:00 PM: Table Conversations
  • 7:20 PM: Buffet Potluck Dinner
  • 7:47 PM: Call to Prayer - Adhan
  • 7:48 PM: Dinner
  • 8:30 PM: Closing

Contributions:

Guests are welcome to contribute to the dinner by providing salads, vegetarian side dishes, rice, or pasta. The Dialogue Institute will provide the main dish and dessert. Sign-up will include information on how to prepare dishes according to halal guidelines.

Halal Dietary Restrictions:

  • Fish, fruits, and vegetables are acceptable.
  • Non-alcoholic beverages are preferred.
  • Prefer kosher and dairy with store-bought food items. Look for symbols such as a small circled U, K, or D on the package.
  • Avoid vanilla extract or vanilla, as they may contain alcohol.
  • Halal meat (including chicken, lamb, and beef) is preferred and can be found at Safari Mediterranean Market (7221 Matlock Rd #143, Arlington, TX 76002 ) and other locations.
